For their 2020-21 season, the Emerald City Jazz Kings present another great year of historic jazz and popular music. They start off the season with Diga Diga Doo, a tribute to legendary Classic Songbook lyricist Dorothy Fields. And in May Shirley Andress and company close out the season with a celebration of the career of Doris Day, What Will Be Will Be.
The Emerald City Jazz Kings is the resident jazz & classic American Songbook ensemble of The John G. Shedd Institute for the Arts. The Jazz Kings produce 4 original concerts each year on various themes pertinent to the historic popular music and jazz of the 1920s through ‘50s, with performances in Eugene at The Shedd, and in Roseburg and Corvallis in normal (non-COVID) times.
