For their 2016-17 season, Jesse Cloninger and the Emerald City Jazz Kings offer up a fine assortment of historic jazz and popular music. They kick off in the fall with Mood Indigo, a survey of the first half of Edward Kennedy "Duke" Ellington's career (October), begin the new year with CLARINET MARMALADE, a lively study on the variations of style during the Jazz Age (February), and conclude with MY LUCKY STAR, a tribute to the fabulous songs of Arthur Freed and Nacio Herb Brown (May).
And we’re pleased to bring you once again the Jazz Kings' popular, heartwarming Christmas show, this year (for one year only) led by Jesse Cloninger and entitled HAPPY HOLIDAY (December).

The Emerald City Jazz Kings is the resident jazz & classic American Songbook ensemble of The John G. Shedd Institute for the Arts. Under the baton of music director Jesse Cloninger, the Jazz Kings produce 4 original concerts each year on various themes pertinent to the historic popular music and jazz of the 1920s through ‘50s, with performances in Eugene, Florence and Corvallis.
