For all the years The Jazz Kings have been putting on shows, you, our audience has happily come along with us for the ride. It is always us choosing the themes and songs for the shows and you attending and listening. It is time to try something new! For one show, YOU get to pick the songs. We are calling this show You Asked For It and that is exactly what the show will be: an evening of songs selected by you, our audience, from all the songs the Jazz Kings have ever played for any size ensemble ranging from duet to full big band with four vocalists. We will consider any song from Tin Pan Alley to Great American Songbook to big band classic. Over the last 9 months we have been accepting song nominations through The Shedd’s website and in person at the Fall and Winter Jazz Kings shows and have tabulate the results and the songs with the most requests will be the songs on the program (which is listed here under the "Program" tab).
The Florence, Corvallis and Sunday matinee Eugene performances offer conventional concert seating. The format for the Eugene evening performance offers cabaret seating on the main floor with reserved seating in the balcony and full bar in the Tykeson Lobby.
This concert is eligible for The Shedd's Free Shedd Jazz Student Ticket program, which makes a limited number of free admission tickets to select 2017-18 Shedd jazz concerts available to any student elementary through college. The program is made possible by support from Friends of Jazz at The Shedd. Contact The Shedd Ticket Office for information.
