Oregon Festival of American Music 2014 conclude our 2 year celebration of the classic American Songbook in Hollywood. This summer we focus on the 1940s and '50s as the film industry further developed its relationship with the Songbook in the face of changing tastes and popular culture. Music director Ken Peplowski and company touch upon the best of 1940s and '50s Hollywood-based songwriting, offering concerts covering early '40s swing, Harold Arlen, Judy Garland, Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack, Hoagy Carmichael, and more! Finally, this summer's musical will be 1949's adaptation of Anita Loos' witty 1925 satire Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.
