If you’ve seen PBS’ superb 1999 Doowop 50 show, you know the talents of The Legends of Doo-Wop! Playing to SRO audiences from New York to Los Angeles, they have dazzled and delighted with vocals unheard since the early days of Rock n' Roll. "They are the hottest super group that I have ever seen" - says Andrea Siegel, Editor, Oldies Forever Magazine.
Destination Doo Wop says it all: "Their name says it all - the Legends of Doo Wop - 'nuff said. Four guys with a combined total of more than 160 years of group harmony experience. No other doo-wop or acappella group out there today can boast that depth of talent. And that experience and talent translates into one of the hottest group harmony artists today. Each one of the groups that generated a member of the Legends of Doo-Wop could warrant its own separate group of the month feature. Whether it be the Passions, that contributed Jimmy Gallagher, the Fascinators that contributed Tony Passalaqua, the Imaginations that contributed Frank Mancuso, or the Five Sharks that contributed Steve Horn, you could spend hours upon hours talking about the history and recordings of these legendary original group harmony artists."
The group consists of three former lead singers and one "Mister Bassman" from a veritable who's who of legendary rock n' rollers. The members have 4 songs in the top 100 all time greatest hits listing, recently released by WCBS radio in New York City. Jimmy Gallagher, lead singer for the Passions, recorded the golden oldies "Just To Be With You", "I Only Want You", "This Is My Love" and "Gloria". Tony Passa, lead singer for The Fascinators, recorded "Chapel Bells", "Who Do You Think You Are" and "Rosemarie". Frank Mancuso sang lead for The Imaginations and scored with "Guardian Angel", "Hey You" and "The Search Is Over". Steve Horn recorded with The 5 Sharps…who could ever forget "Stormy Weather". Together, they have recorded over 60 songs…enough to keep them singing for a long, long time.
