Simply put, Harold Arlen composed many of the best songs in the Great American Songbook, and there is no way that Ken and company can cover them all in one concert. Fortunately, it is impossible to do almost any concert of classic Songbook or standards-based jazz without covering Arlen, so keep an ear out throughout this summer's festival and just about anything we do here at The Shedd...you're bound to run into an Arlen gem, written with the likes of Ted Koehler ("Get Happy", "Stormy Weather", "Ill Wind"), Yip Harburg ("Over The Rainbow", "Lydia The Tattooed Lady", "It's Only A Paper Moon") or Johnny Mercer ("Blues In The Night", ""Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate the Positive", "My Shining Hour", That Old Black Magic")...but you get the idea!
