Hailed by Jazz Times as "one of the greatest composer-saxophonists in the history of jazz," Wayne Shorter led a new generation of musicians through his compositions for Miles Davis' legendary second quintet and pioneering fusion works with Weather Report. Since his reemergence in 1985 with Grammy-nominated Atlantis, Shorter has added 4 albums to his existing repertoire of 19 solo releases. With his new all-star quartet, which has captured major critical acclaim and Downbeat's Acoustic Jazz Group of the Year Award, Shorter employs a fully acoustic setup to play all new compositions at The Shedd on April 14th.
