Molly Ringwald stops at The Shedd with her quintet on tour in support of her just-released CD of jazz standards. Familiar to most as an actress (from John Hughes' 1980s films Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, and Pretty In Pink on), Ringwald was born into the Sacramento jazz scene of her pianist father Bob, and returned to serious jazz and cabaret performance in and around Los Angeles in the late 2000s, even as she continues acting (the Broadway revival of Sweet Charity and ABC's Secret Life of the American Teenager) and a burgeoning new career as a writer (2010's Getting The Pretty Back and 2012's When It Happens To You).
