Mike Sanders is a retired audio engineer. Over the past 15 years has become an ardent and extremely knowledgeable advocate for hearing access due to his wife’s severe hearing loss and the challenges they faced in getting satisfactory results with her cochlear implant . Both lovers of live music performance, Mike became involved with The Shedd’s newly formed Loop Lane County Committee as a skeptic. He soon witnessed, however, that well-managed hearing loop systems can make the difference for community members with moderate to severe hearing loss to once again enjoy live music and the spoken word. He is well acquainted with supplemental devices to use in other personal settings as well, and advocates for loops and other devices in their most appropriate settings.
