Christine was born and raised in Eugene, and spent her formative years ("babyhood to marriage," as she puts it) at the First Baptist Church - now the Shedd - where she played piano and sang in the choir. She met her husband of fifty years, the Hon. Michael Hogan, in the choir room, and the two later married in the church sanctuary.
Christine has a Masters in Elementary Education from the UO with a speciality in Developmentally Delayed children. When she stopped teaching to raise the Hogan children she became a volunteer for many years in the children's schools, the Eugene Symphony Guild and First Book.
Why The Shedd?
Christine joined the Shedd Board because of her deep roots to the Eugene community, her love of music, her belief in the Shedd's mission and her ties to the building itself. "I am thrilled to be involved with the Shedd because it's accessible to people of all ages and the outstanding programming insures there is music for everyone taste." "It's a joy to see this beautiful, historical building turned into a first class venue for the arts in Oregon."
