New York Times bestselling author, renowned keynote speaker, and beloved Jesuit, Fr. Greg Boyle founded Los Angeles based Homeboy Industries in 1988. Armed with a culture of kinship, compassion, connection and tenderness, Homeboy Industries has grown to be the largest gang rehabilitation and re-entry program in the world, providing jobs and support to thousands every year through its many social enterprise businesses, an 18-month training program, art academy, tattoo removal service, case management, mental health & substance abuse services, education programs, legal services, etc.
In addition, the Global Homeboy Network (GHN) has grown to include over 400 organizations around the world that assist each other to provide marginalized men, women, and youth with the tools needed to change their lives and become productive members of their communities. The GHN brings people together to work toward social justice, advocate for marginalized populations, strive to break the recidivism cycle, and address the collateral consequences of serving time in prison.
Greg’s experiences, stories and reflections inspire communities to unite in inclusion, where “there is no us and them, only US”.
