Jazz pianist Ehud Asherie returns to The Shedd's Jaqua Concert Hall with a tribute to the extraordinarily prolific and long-working composer/lyricist Irving Berlin. As colleague Jerome Kern put it late in both of their careers, “Irving Berlin has no place in American music. He is American music. Emotionally, he honestly absorbs the vibrations emanating from the people, manners and life of his time and, in turn, gives these impressions back to the world – simplified, clarified and glorified.” Ehud offers his own take on the master's nonpareil legacy. Look for classic including "Cheek To Cheek", "Russian Lullaby", "What'll I Do?", "Always", "They Say It's Wonderful", and more.
This concert is eligible for The Shedd's Free Jazz & Classical Music Tickets for Youth program, which makes a limited number of free admission tickets to select 2022-23 Shedd Classical and Jazz concerts available to youth high school and younger. The program is made possible by support from Friends of Classical Music at The Shedd. Contact The Shedd Ticket Office for information.
