Founded and directed by clarinetist Ken Peplowski, The Shedd Institute's annual Jazz Party brings together a select group of exceptional jazz masters for 3 jam-packed days of straight-ahead mainstream jazz of the highest order. The 3rd annual Jazz Party at The Shedd offers 4 sessions from Friday night, March 6th through Sunday mid-afternoon, March 8th.
This year Ken has extended the sets of each session a bit, while maintaining the mix of small to medium ensembles that has become the hallmark of The Shedd party. Every session has its own feel and special features, from the opening night batter of the saxophones to our traditionally laid back closing brunch session. Take a single session, take in an entire weekend. It will be another extraordinary weekend of music.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Jazz Party 2009 will be comprised of 4 sessions over 3 days, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 6-8, at The John G. Shedd Institute for the Arts in Eugene, Oregon. The Friday and Saturday night sessions and Sunday Brunch session each 4 hours, with 4 to 5 sets apiece. Saturday afternoon's session, runs for 3.
SINGLE SESSIONS & PARTY PASS. The 4 sessions are ticketed individually at 3 levels: Gold, Red & Youth (18 & younger), with prices as indicated below. Gold & Red: purchase the 4 sessions package for a 15% discount and preferred seating. SEATING. The main floor of The Shedd Institute’s Jaqua Concert Hall is age 21+ with bar, with cabaret seating up front (accessible to Gold patrons only) and general admission row seating in back (accessible to 21+ Red patrons too). The reserved seating balcony is accessible to all patrons, including Youth. The Sunday Jazz Brunch is on the main floor (which is all ages for this event only) and there is no bar. The hall has superb acoustics and is quite intimate: every seat is a winner. Reserved cabaret seating for Gold package purchasers is available on request.

We cannot offer refunds, but tickets may be credited towards any other Shedd concert 48 hours or more before a concert for a $2 per ticket handling fee. PRICING. Evening sessions (Friday & Saturday) are $48 (Gold) and $38 (Red), with Youth passes at $23. The Saturday Afternoon session is $38 (Gold) and $28 (Red), with Youth at $18. The Sunday JAZZ BRUNCH is $58 (Gold & Red) for adults and $38 for youth (no bar event).
